Last week we shared some top tips to prep your body for spring, but something we should mention is that a change in season can take a toll on your skin as it goes through a transition.
Acne breakouts are more common than you realize as you switch to lighter products and your skin makes the adjustment to new temperatures, but that doesn’t make them any fun!
In this article, we’ll share just three natural ways you can manage your acne and rock clear, happy and confident skin all season long!
Each essential oil is unique and has specific properties that make it popular. We tend to use essential oils just one way (in our diffusers) and while this certainly has excellent aromatherapy benefits, why not try experimenting with them in other ways too?
Certain essential oils like lavender, tea tree oil, chamomile, and lemon, are all wonderful for soothing breakouts by reducing inflammation and providing powerful, yet natural, antibacterial properties.
Try adding a few drops to a carrier oil like coconut and massage it into your skin or dip a q-tip into some pure tea tree oil and use it as a spot treatment.

Stripping your skin of excess, beneficial oils will cause your skin to over-produce sebum in order to make up for the lack of oil in your skin. This will then often result in clogged pores and breakouts.
A few things that can strip the skin include rinsing with hot water, using harsh, drying products or over-exfoliating.
Always be sure to use all natural, organic skin care products, rinse with lukewarm water and exfoliate just once or twice a week. We recommend adding a little raw sugar to coconut oil with a drop or two of your favorite essential oil for a gentle, yet effective exfoliant that won’t strip your skin.
We spend so much time focusing on our skin externally, that we sometimes forget that what we eat plays a key role in the health of our skin too.
Drink plenty of water and start adding in a rainbow of fruits and veggies into your daily diet.
Stay away from foods that can increase sebum and worsen blemishes such as greasy, processed foods, dairy, and sugar.
A change in your eating habits can make a drastic change in the appearance of your skin, and help boost your immunity at the same time!
By following these tips you’ll enjoy a seamless transition into the new season. If you have any of your own tips to share, we’d love to hear them in the comments!
