Description: This shrub decorates the Mediterranean area. It is about 60 cm (2 feet) high and very attractive to bees. It has a woody, hairy stem, small lance-shaped green leaves and purple-blue flowers.
Color: Pale yellow green liquid.

Common Use: Organic Hyssop Essential Oil is known to help ease sore throats caused by sinus issues. It is reputed to be effective in cases of respiratory problems and viral infections, such as colds, coughs, influenza, bronchitis, asthma, catarrh and tonsillitis. Hyssop Oil is powerful and helps to relieve genito-urinary conditions and skin conditions, like bruises, eczema, inflammation.
Spiritual Use: Hyssop is a very spiritual oil and has been used since the time of the Lemurians. It is used to understand our spiritual purpose. We are able to create a better connection with people (and the divine) through our relationships. It releases judgment of self and others and old belief systems that no longer serve our spiritual direction. It supports our spiritual journey of discovery, purpose and inner nourishment.

History: Already well known in ancient times, Hyssop was referred to in the Bible for its cleansing effect in connection with plague, leprosy and chest ailments. Hyssop was used for purifying sacred places and as a strewing herb in the Middle Ages to ward off lice.
Cautions: Organic Hyssop Essential Oil is non-irritant, non-sensitizing but does contain pinocamphone and should therefore be used in moderation an avoided during pregnancy, by people suffering from epilepsy.
