Description: Litsea Cubeba is native to Asia. It’s a small tree with pepper-like bearing fruits where most of the essential oil comes from. The oil produced from this plant has similar properties to lemongrass, Melissa and other oils that are rich in citral.

Colour: Light yellow and translucent

Aromatic Scent: Refreshing fruity sweet, sour and lemon-like flavor and aroma of lemon grass oil. The aroma of the oil is similar to the fresh and crisp scent of Lemon.

Common Use:  Also known as May Chang, Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil is most valued for its calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Other therapeutic properties include being astringent, antiseptic, insecticide, hypotensive, stimulant and tonic.

Spiritual Use:  Litsea Cubeba has a spiritual energy and can be used to connect with the spirit of rejuvenation. The secret of eternal youth has been the quest of the philosopher's stone - so far no certain remedy has been found. Yet, letting go of worries and fears and not taking things too seriously may be a secret approach to keeping the spirit young.

History: Cubeba is well used in Chinese traditional medicine to help alleviate menstrual pain such as dysmenorrhea. It also helps to relieve stomach aches, lower back pains, headaches and other muscular aches. Litsea Cubeba oil is also used in inhalers to help assist people with asthma or bronchitis as it relaxes the bronchial tubes that will allow a proper breathing.
